  1. An amazing CD by Francis Lai. It's amongst some of the most beautiful & moving music I've ever heard. For anyone who's a fan of Francis Lai's work, this CD is essential. After hearing this CD my grandmother (who's in her 80's) bought a copy, as did my son (who's only 21), proving the music on this CD crosses all age groups for the enjoyment it /5(73).
  2. Jun 24,  · Some of the songs on the album are instrumental, and other songs have vocals. But neither are a blessing to the ears. The CD is good for a laugh, but not much else. Might make a good gag gift. It would be a hard contest indeed to vote for the worst song on the album (or for that matter, the best song on the album) but my vote is "Take My Breath /5(2).
  3. Mar 11,  · Starring Patti D Arbanville, Mona Kristensen, Bernard Giraudeau, Mathieu Carriere and Gilles Kohler. Music by Francis Lai. Directed by David Hamilton. The English photographer David Hamilton has achieved unusual visual beauty in making his first motion picture enhanced by the music of Francis Lai. Based on a classic novel by Pierre Louys, Bilitis is a young girl who first discovers love /5().

  6. Frances Lai, king of the overly sentimental film scorers, gets his rightful place in composing the music for filmmaker David Hamilton's horrible adaptation of Pierre Louys' beautifully poetic novel Chanson de Bilitis (Songs of Bilitis). Lai was given the chore of creating a score for a provocative love story.
  7. This CD should be titled, "Great Movie End Credits Themes," because four of the 12 selections are End Credits music, the stuff no one wants to listen to as all the technical information rolls at the end ot a movie (you know, exit music). The trouble with End Credits is that few carry the actual love theme music or they carry only a small snippet/5(15).

  9. The sexual content, lesbian Bilitis? Bi-sexual? Her journey of discovery. At least sublimely, I thought that was a common theme to these Euro-flics. The way people dressed and their basic morays towards sex were different than America. What is relevant is what I remember thinking about this movie and movie going- to experience from
